Rising soul singer Devon Gilfillian was the musical visitor on Jimmy Kimmel Reside final Wednesday night time (Nov. 1). 

The Grammy-nominated crooner carried out “Love You Anyway,” the title monitor to his sophomore album, launched in April.

Rocking a lightweight blue tropical blazer with matching pants, Gilfillian delivered a soul-stirring rendition of his empowering tune. 

“Love You Anyway” is the present single from Gilfillian’s second album, following “All I Actually Wanna Do.” The latter tune reached No. 6 on Billboard’s Grownup Various Airplay chart in Might.

In October, he launched the official video for “Love You Anyway” and a four-pack EP with alternate variations of the tune, together with a rendition that includes indie band Sammy Rae & The Associates.

“My dream is for this tune to deliver all communities collectively to have a dialog. There’s a lot hate on this world that we may reduce by really attending to know one another. I’m honored that Sammy Rae has added her unbelievable voice to this tune,” stated Gilfillian. 

Relating to “Love You Anyway,” Gilfillian informed Rated R&B, “I needed to punctuate the album with that tune as a result of it holds onto that optimism that we are able to come collectively and determine tips on how to maintain these politicians accountable.”

Talking on the album, Love You Anyway, Gilfillian famous, “I needed to share my story and pour an entire lot of affection into the hole that’s grown between folks in our nation.”

He continued, “This album is about loving your self, discovering the love that matches, and in addition about mending the love in your life that wants mending — particularly in a world that feels very wounded. I hope it might shine like a lightweight by the darkish clouds.”

Love You Anyway is the follow-up to Gilfillian’s debut album, Black Gap Rainbow, launched in 2021.
