In 2022, we launched our first installment of Youngbloods, a brand new class of jazz artists pushing the music ahead.

Our inaugural class featured 5 thrilling artists all underneath the age of 30. Our second installment spotlights six artists. We have already been acquainted with three electrifying vibraphonists in a earlier episode.

At the moment, behold our brass Youngbloods — trumpeter Giveton Gelin (24), trombonist Kalia Vandever (28) and trumpeter Summer time Camargo (22) — three artists who’re infusing new vitality into at present’s jazz scene.

On this episode we hint their trajectories: Gelin from The Bahamas to Juilliard; Vandever from Los Angeles to stadium excursions (alongside Harry Kinds); and Camargo from Florida to the Saturday Night time Dwell band.
