Halle Bailey, aptly referred to as Halle, has launched her solo debut single, “Angel,” through Parkwood Leisure/Columbia Data.

On the gorgeous piano ballad, produced by TheRon “Neff-U” Feemster, Halle sings about resilience and perseverance within the face of difficult instances. “Angels make a approach in some way / And if we fall, we fall on clouds,” she divinely sings.

“Angel” arrives three months after Halle’s breakout function as Ariel in Disney’s movement image The Little Mermaid. When her casting was introduced, some criticized the portrayal of a fictional underwater character as Black, and there have been remarks about her hair coloration not being crimson sufficient. Regardless of the negativity, many had been thrilled to see Halle embrace the function and the way she would symbolize younger Black ladies all over the world.

Concerning “Angel,” Halle shares, “This music for me is so very particular and close to and expensive to my coronary heart. With all the things I’ve gone by the previous 3-4 years, all of the sudden discovering myself on this bubble of all these eyes and new opinions, it was straightforward for me to really feel doubt in myself and who I used to be.”

She continues, “This music for me was my climb out of these emotions, a mantra and promise to myself that the work I’m doing right here on earth issues and that I matter. I wished to have the ability to embrace and be pleased with myself and who I’m naturally by and thru. I hope different brown and Black ladies and everybody typically really feel embraced, revered, and impressed listening to the phrases of this music.”

As famous above, “Angel” is Halle’s correct solo debut single outdoors of Chloe x Halle. She beforehand recorded “A part of Your World” for The Little Mermaid soundtrack. Halle’s model, launched April 26, has greater than 33 million streams on Spotify.
