The police in Kano State have arrested a 19-year-old man, Nafiu Sulaiman, for allegedly “kidnapping himself” and accumulating N365,000 ransom from his uncle below whom he works in a cement store in Garindau village in Warawa LGA.
Confessing to the crime when he was paraded by the police, the suspect stated he organised his personal kidnap and that he did that to get cash and to purchase garments and different issues.
He stated he took himself to an uncompleted constructing and stayed there for some days, including that the cash he collected was stolen from him.
He defined that,
“I deliberate all the pieces. I used one other line to name my boss, who can also be my uncle. I demanded a ransom and requested them to drop it someplace. I stayed there all these lengthy, and after I wanted meals, I got here out to purchase and return.
“However I didn’t use even one per cent of the cash. I spent solely N20,000 and buried the cash someplace. Once I obtained there I discovered the cash was stolen.”
The state’s Commissioner of Police (CP), Muhammad Usaini Gumel, stated the suspect was arrested in the middle of investigation and that he confessed to have single-handedly framed his personal kidnapping to extort his uncle.
