French-Djiboutian singer Shay Lia has returned together with her new album, Sides, through AWAL Recordings. 

The ten-track providing consists of the beforehand shared tunes “Solo,” Takutá,” “Upside Down” and “On the Low.” The latter tune was produced by her longtime collaborator Kaytranada. 

Lia says her sophomore album “speaks to the entire lives I’ve lived in numerous cities, nations, occasions and areas.”

The multifaceted singer provides, “It’s unimaginable for me to take a seat comfortably in a single particular style as a result of whereas my imaginative and prescient is evident, my influences and experiences are layered… it’s an intentional demonstration of all sides of me and I can’t wait for everybody to listen to it, really feel it and see components of themselves in it.”

Lia opens Sides with “Excessive,” a confidence-boosting bop constructed round an Amapiano-tinged manufacturing helmed by GuiltyBeatz. “Child, I do know I’m the want in your listing / See, however I’m gon’ put me first on my listing / And I do know the place I’m going, I’m a vibe / Catch me in the event you can,” Lia gleams. 

“E.G.O. (Power Will get Over)” is one other spotlight of the album. With vocal assist from R&B duo Majid Jordan and visitor verse from rapper Buddy, Lia dismisses a narcissistic lover.

​Talking on the monitor, she shares, “I used to be in a stage of therapeutic and it was cathartic to have a room stuffed with nice males provide you with lyrics that helped me chunk again at somebody’s god advanced.”

Lia will assist her second album on her first-ever headlining tour. The U.Ok./Europe leg kicks off Nov. 22 at Le Hasard Ludique in Paris, France. From there, she’s going to play in Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin and London. 

On Feb. 23, 2024, Lia will launch the North American leg in Montreal, Quebec.

She’s going to make further stops in Toronto, New York and San Fransisco, earlier than wrapping up in Los Angeles on March 2, 2024. Tickets can be found for buy on Lia’s official web site. 

Circling again to Sides, the album is the follow-up to her 2020 EP, Solaris. In 2019, she launched her debut mission, Harmful.
