The Kinks‘ former keyboardist John Gosling has died on the age of 75, the band have revealed.

In a press release posted on-line, the band’s Ray and Dave Davies revealed the information and paid tribute to their bandmate, who performed with The Kinks between 1970-1978.

“We’re deeply saddened by the information of the passing of John Gosling,” they wrote. “We’re sending our condolences to John’s spouse and household.”

“Condolences to his spouse Theresa and household. Relaxation in peace dearest John,” Ray wrote, with Dave including: “I’m dismayed deeply upset by John Gosling’s passing. He has been a pal and essential contributor to the Kinks music throughout his time with us.

“Deepest sympathies to his spouse and household. I’ll maintain deep affection and love for him in my coronary heart all the time. Nice musician and an incredible man.”

The Kinks’ former drummer Mick Avory additionally wrote: “At this time we misplaced an expensive pal and colleague, he was an incredible musician and had a unbelievable sense of humour, which made him common member of the band, he leaves us with some joyful recollections. God Bless him.”

Gosling performed with The Kinks for eight years from 1970, showing on ‘Lola’, certainly one of their largest hits, in addition to the albums ‘Muswell Hillbillies’, ‘All people’s in Present-Biz—All people’s a Star’ and extra.
